SEGD Sydney Conference Identity
BRIEF
The SEGD chapter is serving as the client and holding an in-person design placemaking conference in 2022 in Sydney, Australia. Using a custom developed type system to be a part of the event's identity, I created other branding and collateral materials to delight, inform, and guide a visitor's experience at the conference.
OVERVIEW
For my custom typography, I created a series of cardboard, yarn, and paper experimental models of the letter "S". I then translated my 3D models into 2D sketched letterforms, then finally developed a custom word through a process of overlapping crescents, arcs, and circles. For the event identity, I chose to take inspiration from the colors and architectural forms in the built and natural environment of Sydney's city.

Process For Custom Type System
Below is a poster that showcase the different physical letterform explorations I made for the letter S for "Sydney". I used various teqnuiques and materials like yarn, cardstock, and cardboard to test out different forms that could inspire my custom typography.
